Administrative Assistant - RTC Records Unit - Grade B/C - 623

The RTC Records Unit is seeking applications for an Administrative Assistant that will be responsible to the Force Collision Manager and Senior Administration Assistant. This is a career graded role and you will be required to provide efficient and effective general administrative support, undertaking a wide range of administrative tasks. To make a success of this role you will need to be able to produce written work to a high standard, both accurately and concisely with an eye for detail.

You will be required to work as part of a team, providing an effective administration support undertaking a wide range of tasks and provide support to the Road Traffic Collision Investigation Unit.

It is essential to the role that you are experienced in carrying out duties relevant to the post as you will need to demonstrate that you have carried out duties including the recording/retrieval of information, routine filing, be able to formulate replies to correspondence producing written documents to the required standards in grammar, punctuation and presentation working quickly and accurately along with excellent communication skills.

Your role will involve processing incoming mail, receipting cheques and you will need keyboard experience i.e. VDU and knowledge of computer applications as well as other clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning etc.

Other duties include:

Record and interrogate road traffic collisions and statistics on the Force collision database.

Take phone calls regarding collisions from members of the public giving advice as appropriate.

Deal with correspondence regarding the disclosure of collision information for civil purposes.

It is a very busy environment and plays an important role in providing an efficient service to police officers, police staff and outside agencies. The role although busy will be rewarding for the right applicant.
