If so Thames Valley Police are looking to recruit you to join as a Police Contact Enquiry Officer.
You will be the first point of contact for all members of the public visiting the police station. You will deal with victims and offenders, managing their expectations, offer support and reassurance to vulnerable people and reason with and calm emotional, angry and aggressive visitors. You will check and record details in police IT systems. You will also deal with internal customers and will provide a high-quality customer service to all, in accordance with current legislation, policy and procedures. There will be general administration and the responsibility for dealing with the receipt and return of property.
You will need to be assertive and have the ability to remain calm and think logically in challenging situations. You must have the ability to be sensitive and understanding to the needs of an emotional victim and have an appreciation of confidentiality and diversity. Problem solving and decision-making skills are essential, as is the ability to work both as part of a team and independently. You will have the ability to undertake physical Personal Safety Training.

Please note for this role there is a requirement to attend a 2-week full time training course based at Kidlington or in Hampshire. In the event of it being in Hampshire, hotel accommodation will be provided.
