Job Purpose
The successful candidate will be part of the Corporate Communications team and will help deliver all aspects of communications, ranging from answering press enquiries, helping with internal communications, planning and creating multimedia work, and advising and briefing officers and staff at all levels.
They will have overall responsibility for communications representing the Specialist Operations and Protecting Vulnerable Persons departments, meaning you will lead on media relations and partnership engagement, writing press releases, helping create video packages, and internal communications where relevant.
They will be a creative thinker who can identify on and offline tactics and write and deliver campaign pitches to key stakeholders.
Core work areas:
- To contribute to the daily work of Corporate Communications by answering press enquiries, setting up media opportunities, writing press releases and digital communications, offering media and communications advice to key stakeholders at all levels.
- To develop and contribute to communications strategy in line with Force strategy and priorities.
- To lead on communications work based on force strategic and operational need which helps deliver the Chief Constable’s strategic aims.
- To work with colleagues across the Force, the OPCC, and partner agencies, to ensure a joined-up approach and successful delivery of objectives.
- To assess, plan and lead on communications work at a local level while also ensuring awareness of national communications work that might be of relevance.
- To communicate on the operational and engagement activity of Lincolnshire Police in order to establish and/or improve public trust and confidence in the Force.
- To be able to act reactively and shape communications during emergencies, while also delivering communications to support planned projects and events.
- To establish and encourage strong relationships with media organisations and individuals.
- To be part of the Corporate Communications on-call team to help facilitate a 24/7 communications functions for the Force.
