Although we are Public Servants, we are accredited by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and recruit by merit on the basis of fair and open competition, as outlined in CSCs recruitment principles.
Due to our status as Public Servants, we are not eligible to participate in the Civil Service transfer process. Therefore, while successful candidates can transfer in on their existing terms and conditions, any subsequent transfer out of the College to the Civil Service will follow the standard Cabinet Office policy and new starter/modernised terms will apply.

Job description
The selected candidate will join an agile delivery team of Quality Assurance, Compliance and Continuous Improvement professionals, who can be called upon to apply their skills and knowledge to a range of activities and subject matter. They design, undertake and advise on quality assurance activities for national programmes of learning and assessment for policing, developed by the College, and delivered by Police Forces, Higher and Further Education Institutions, and other providers, to support effective implementation, provide reassurance of ongoing consistency and quality and to facilitate continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Work across a variety of high-profile College standards
- Engage with forces and education providers to explain, implement and ensure that all QA and compliance activity helps to raise standards
- Stay connected with forces and education providers to understand how standards are being adopted and implemented in practice, identifying opportunities to improve
- Deliver QA and compliance processes that inspire and help forces and education providers meet the standards required by the College and its collaborative regulatory bodies
- Measure and monitor the right standards to help forces and education providers deliver their objectives, ensuring a culture of mutual respect and support between the College and stakeholders
To be successful in this role youll need:
- A Level 6 qualification (degree or equivalent qualification / experience)
- Relevant training, teaching or quality assurance qualification appropriate for professional education settings (Level 4 or higher)
- Experience in developing and implementing quality assurance and continuous improvement frameworks within a teaching, learning and assessment context
- Proven ability to quickly build rapport creating strong, effective, credible and successful partnerships with the ability to negotiate and facilitate positive outcomes
- Experience of producing clear, concise, evidenced reports with realistic recommendations
- Be competent in using Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel and Outlook

Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Providing advice and guidance within the College and to external stakeholders on all aspects of quality assurance of licenced national learning programmes, to support consistent product design, delivery, assessment and accreditation to nationally recognised quality standards.
- Producing and maintaining programme specifications for national learning programmes in consultation with the Curriculum and Qualifications team that clearly document the management, delivery, assessment and accreditation requirements, to support consistent delivery against quality standards.
- Collating and reviewing evidence of compliance with Programme Specification requirements to inform management and governance groups on utility and efficacy of the programme in improving learning standards for professional policing.
- Supporting continuous improvement of licenced national learning programmes, with force and university partners.
