Lancashire Constabulary is looking for ICT Applications Information Assurance & Data Cleansing Assistant to join our team.
The CONNECT Information Assurance & Data Cleansing Assistant vacancy is required to cover normal core working hours (between 7am and 6pm) Monday to Friday, the vacancy allows flexible working with the opportunity of working from home for part of the week.
The role of the job is to review cleanse and correct electronic data within CONNECT which is used by Lancashire Constabulary to record information in the following areas, intelligence, investigation management, case preparation and custody, by checking and updating existing records using all available constabulary resource.
To work as directed by the ICT Applications Information Assurance & Data Quality Team Leader to an agreed plan for data checking.
To act and assist as an SME (Subject Matter Expert) for projects relating to Data Quality linked to the force record management system, providing knowledge of workflows and rules as applicable.
To ensure that correct data quality rules, methods and protocols are known, documented and disseminated to the wider constabulary.
Key Responsibilities:
This is not a comprehensive list of all the tasks which may be required of the post holder. It is illustrative of the general nature and level of responsibility of the work to be undertaken.
- To check the accuracy of existing records on the Force Record Management system against set criteria to make informed decisions in relation to the disposal of information and amend data accordingly.
- To work as directed by the ICT Applications Information Assurance & Quality Team Leader to an agreed plan for data checking.
- To act and assist as an SME for projects relating to Data Quality linked to the force record management system, providing knowledge of workflows and rules as applicable.
- Provide regular updates to the ICT Applications Information Assurance & Quality Team Leader, communicating progress in respect of the agreed timeline.
- To explore different methods of correcting Data Quality within the Record Management System (RMS) to proactively identify, target and improve accuracy of information held within the RMS system
- To ensure that correct data quality rules, methods and protocols are known, documented, and disseminated to the wider constabulary

Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and MoPI Guidance
Experience of working to deadlines and tight timescales, within a busy environment
Experience of working with a computer system and complex data.

Vetting and Medical:
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV).
