Police Staff- Intelligence Development Officer – MARSOC

An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of YHROCU prisons, working collaboratively with His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), to tackle serious and organised crime.
MARSOC is the Multi Agency Response to Serious Organised Crime is a HMPPS -led and funded programme, which seeks to better co-ordinate HM Government efforts in identifying the highest-harm SOC nominals who continue to offend while in the criminal justice system, and for whom a multi-agency wraparound is needed to disrupt them.
The purpose of MARSOC is to bring together Law Enforcement, Prisons, Probation, HMRC and the National Crime Agency along with other relevant government departments to jointly disrupt the highest harm SOC nominals who, through their continued offending, impact both the criminal justice system and communities.
We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm, commitment and a proactive mindset who will have an ability to engage positively with partners, ensure compliance with relevant legislation / guidelines and an ability to proactively develop intelligence, considering a range of tactical options to disrupt offenders within the prison estate and wider community. MARSOC uses the full range of enforcement powers attributed to civil and criminal laws alongside regulatory rules to target every aspect of the SOC nominal’s criminal activity.
As the Intelligence development officer, your primary objective is to co-ordinate, identify, collate, research, assess, review and enhance intelligence relating to MARSOC nominals to augment delivery of interventions and the securing of disruptive outcomes.
We have one vacancy, on a fixed 1-year contract to March 2027 and then subject to review each financial year thereafter and subject to continual funding arrangements of HMPPS.
You should hold a full UK/European driving license.
The role is Monday – Friday Flexi, with the opportunity for some agile working. There is an operational requirement for officers to work within the prison establishments in areas where they will have face to face contact with serving prisoners and staff.
