Ensure crimes are recorded and disposed of in accordance with Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR) and ensure correct National Crime Recording Standards (NCRS) are adhered to for every crime recorded, checking detail against information recorded in all fields e.g.: Modus Operandi (MO) and incident log.

What You’ll Do

Ensure crimes are recorded and disposed of in accordance with Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR) and ensure correct National Crime Recording Standards (NCRS) are adhered to for every crime recorded, checking detail against information recorded in all fields e.g.: Modus Operandi (MO), incident log and outcome compliance codes.

Support the crime transfer process through the creation of transferred crime records and liaise with foreign forces with regard to transfer and acceptance of transferred crimes.

Complete Serious Crime Analysis Section (SCAS) reviews.

Ensure that crimes are managed appropriately.

Ensure the rape review process is adhered to.

Provide impartial advice and guidance to officers and police staff of all ranks.

Liaise and assist members of public and outside agencies with telephone enquiries.

What You’ll Bring Applicants must have 4 GCSEs including English Language or Literature and Mathematics (Grade 9 to 4/A to C) or an approved equivalent. An individual who possesses an equivalent e.g. NVQ must provide evidence of Math’s and English.

Knowledge of the Home Office Counting Rules would be desirable.
