Police Assessor

About the Role

We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable professional to support the People Development Department and Lincolnshire Police through high‑quality assessment, internal quality assurance, and delivery of training for student police officers. You’ll work closely with colleagues across People Development, operational police teams, and external partners to ensure excellence in learning, standards, and professional practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Implement and administer assessment and internal verification procedures in line with QAA, College of Policing, and awarding body standards.
  • Maintain awareness of updates to legislation, case law, Authorised Professional Practice, and assessment/standardisation practices.
  • Provide guidance to student officers on evidence requirements and assess their competence, offering constructive feedback to them and their supervisory teams.
  • Support the wider People Development team in delivering training that develops the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours of officers and staff.
  • Attend assessor and IQA standardisation meetings to ensure consistent practice and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of learning materials and programme content.
  • Ensure welfare considerations are prioritised when supporting and assessing students on operational duties.
  • Achieve and maintain performance standards required for police assessors and trainers.
