Note: The current government funding for this role is from the Home Office . At the time of advertisement, funding has not been confirmed by the Home Office for 2026/27 onwards, however we feel confident that funding will continue beyond this financial year for several years to come. It is expected that at the point the recruitment process concludes, we’d be able to provide an update regarding the duration of contract beyond this financial year.

This role is open to all Police Staff / external candidates who meet the essential criteria of the person spec, regardless of current grade.

About the team

The role is part of the National Police Chief Council’s national cyber crime team who are led by the Commissioner of City of London Police.

The team are responsible for delivering national initiatives on behalf of all police forces within England and Wales and other law enforcement partners.

About the role

The post holder will be required to give presentations to a wide variety of audiences and levels. This will include the marketing and promotion of the value and benefits of the product to the business community to grow membership in line with the Growth Strategy.

The coordinator will be expected to develop and implement a model of engagement and training with all forces and ROCUs to embed the use and promotion of Police CyberAlarm. The role holder will be responsible for the development of relationships with key stakeholders and partners in the delivery and promotion of the value and benefits of the product with LEA, public sector partners and the business community.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:-

  • Deliver presentations on Police CyberAlarm to a wide audience of LEA partners including the Cyber Resilience Centres (including the National company and ambassadors), forces and ROCUs, National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), National Crime Agency (NCA), , National Police Governance Boards, National Cyber Policing Conferences, and strategic policing partners promoting the value and benefits of the product.
  • Deliver presentations on Police CyberAlarm to a wide audience of private and public sector partners including Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), private industry, MSPs, the business community and public sector such as the education sector and local government which will include marketing and promoting the product etc in line with the Growth Strategy.
  • Work with the PCA Intelligence Development Supervisor and the supplier with input into the development of Police CyberAlarm project to ensure deployment to capture suspicious data and threat intelligence nationally and regionally for presentations and dissemination.
  • Facilitate the ongoing development of the PCA capability, working with the supplier and stakeholders by identifying and promoting best practice across the network.
  • To provide professional advice and consultancy in relation to identifying opportunities to increase membership and in the promotion of Police CyberAlarm to the business community and public sector

Requirements

Your application will be scored against the criteria listed below for shortlisting. Please ensure that you reference your ability, knowledge and experience against these points in your application.

  1. Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to represent Police CyberAlarm credibly to senior policing audiences, partners and large professional groups.
  1. Clear written communication skills, with experience producing concise reports, briefings and presentation material to support national engagement and decision-making.
  2. Ability to understand cyber or digital security concepts and explain them clearly to non-technical audiences, including policing, public-sector partners and businesses.
  3. Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and partners, including law enforcement and external organisations, contributing to consistent national engagement and delivery.
  4. Relevant experience within law enforcement and/or the cyber security environment, providing the context and credibility required to support the promotion and development of Police CyberAlarm.

This vacancy is open only to those who have the right to work in the UK. Also, due to this role requiring MV/SC level vetting, you need to have continuously resided in the UK for the last 5 years. This residency needs to be in the immediate 5 years prior to this application. If you do not meet this requirement, you are not eligible to apply for the role, due to nature of the vetting checks needed.

The application and interview will be tested under Level CVF Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
