The Force Control Room is the first point of contact for members of the public, calling The City of London Police.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a JCCR deputy manager within the Force Control Room. The successful candidate will have experience in managing a busy 24/7 Police Control Room as well as possess a thorough understanding of Control Room technology and processes. We are looking for an experienced manager who will help drive performance and contribute to the longer-term development of the JCCR service. You will be assisting the JCCR manager with their responsibility for the service delivery of the JCCR function – comprising of the Corporation Contact Centre, Police Control Room, Operational Support Office and the Front Office.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be:

  • Managing teams of Control room supervisors and operatives.
  • Act as SME for the ICCS/CAD/PNC replacement projects.
  • Ensure the Force Control Room upholds relevant national standards including compliance with National Crime Recording Standards.
  • Establish and develop close working relationships with MPS colleagues

Requirements

For this role, we need you to have experience of:

  • Managing teams in a busy Police Control Room.
  • Management of CAD and associated Control room technology.
  • Working to Home office and other relevant agencies requirements

This vacancy is open only to those who have the right to work in the UK. Also, due to this role requiring MV/SC level vetting, you need to have continuously resided in the UK for the last 5 years. This residency needs to be in the immediate 5 years prior to this application. If you do not meet this requirement, you are not eligible to apply for the role, due to nature of the vetting checks needed.

Selection Process

As part of the initial application process, you will be asked to evidence how your experience, skills, and knowledge demonstrate your ability to meet the person specification of the role.

The application and interview will be tested under Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.

Applicants who fail to address the skills/knowledge/experience of the job description will not be considered.

Following shortlisting, successful candidates will be invited to attend a competency-based interview and assessment anticipated to be held week commencing 13th April 2026
