The CSI Unit are recruiting - 'Enhanced CSIs'!

As an Enhanced CSI, you’ll be at the heart of major and serious crime investigations—assessing scenes, applying advanced forensic techniques, recovering crucial evidence, and providing expert forensic advice that shapes investigative outcomes.

Applicants will be required to evidence the following 6 essential criteria in the supporting statement section on the application (Max 150 words per criteria):  

  • Successfully completed the Crime Scene Investigation National training course (Stage 1) external residential course or relevant equivalent. 
  • Understand the full range and application of forensic opportunities in investigations including the wider roles and skills within forensics and to liaise accordingly throughout the process.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and/or as a team to deliver the objectives of the unit and deliver an efficient service to the customer.
  • Able to research incoming jobs and determine the needs of the Victim and the forensic opportunity in determining whether and when to attend.
  • Able to plan and carry out scene examinations, demonstrates photography skills. Ability to recognise and recover forensic evidence types and ability to enhance and recover fingerprints.  Ensure contamination issues regarding recovery of evidence including DNS are adhered to.
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public and Officers in a variety of situations.
