We are looking for an enthusiastic Sustainability Officer with a HNC or equivalent in environmental science or associated discipline. You will support the Principal Facilities Manager – Sustainability and wider Facilities team to play a key role in publicising and promoting sustainability and the associated policies, strategies and action plans and obtain ‘buy in’ from key stakeholders promoting ‘joined up working and integration of relevant sustainability measures. With in excess of 85 buildings across the 10 districts of Greater Manchester, the GMP estate is large, complex and diverse. No two days are the same, the role will provide opportunity to support policing colleagues in their duties and ensure our sustainability aims, most notably net zero by 2038 are met.
We are looking for someone who can prioritise a challenging workload and has well-developed networking skills. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and energetic person who can promote a strategic view of sustainability and work with, and where appropriate, manage service providers, suppliers and liaise with staff to ensure that our performance meets customer and business expectations.
