We are seeking experienced and dedicated substantive Detective Sergeants to join our Specialist Directorate (CID). As a 2-pip DS, you will lead high-performing investigation teams tackling serious and complex crime, safeguarding the vulnerable, and securing justice for our communities.

About the Role:

As a Detective Sergeant in CID, you will:

  • Lead serious and complex criminal investigations with integrity, quality, and victim focus
  • Manage and develop a team of investigators, providing strong leadership and welfare support
  • Deliver proactive investigative strategies that disrupt criminal activity
  • Build effective partnerships with victims, communities, and partners
  • Drive high professional standards across your investigations and team
What We Are Looking For:

We want outstanding leaders who:

  • Hold substantive Detective Sergeant rank (or are eligible for promotion or confirmed transfer)
  • Have extensive experience in serious and complex investigations
