HP - Band Volunteer Musician
Role: Band Volunteer Musician
Location: Sensor House, Beverley – playing at events force wide
Hours: Encouraged to do a minimum of 8 hours per month
The Humberside Police Band are recruiting for Musicians to join the team on a volunteer basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to attend a range of events and provides the opportunity to regularly play your instrument in a group setting and meet new people. Our Band Musicians have played at events including:
- Nee Naw Day
- Pride Events
- Award Ceremonies
- Remembrance Day March
As a member of the Humberside Police Band, you will be expected to:
- Be willing to attend rehearsals for Force Band engagements, which take place across the force area. This includes but is not limited to; Indoor Concerts, Outdoor Concerts and Marches.
- Maintain the required standard of performance through an appropriate level of practice and preparation of concert pieces.
- Contribute to the set up and take down at engagements. Including the loading and unloading of the van.
- Maintain allocated instrument(s) and uniform and report any issues to the section leaders.
Skills and knowledge required:
- ABRSM Grade 6 or above or relevant experience.
- Previous experience of playing as part of ensembles/bands.
- Most of the events are force wide it would be useful if you have access to own transportation.
Further Information:
- Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria of at least 5 years to apply for a role within Humberside in any capacity.
- Successful candidates will undergo a vetting procedure pre-requisite of employment.
