About the team/Department you will be joining:
Tarian Regional Organised Crime Unit targets Serious / Organised Crime within the three southern Wales forces. The successful applicant will form part of a skilled team who work flexible hours to deliver technical capabilities.
About the role and your key responsibilities :
We are looking for a technically minded, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual who already has a good technical grounding to become part of this specialist team to undertake sensitive and covert deployments utilising a range of authorised technical equipment in support of serious and organised crime investigations in the Southern Wales region.
The role will include undertaking research and development into specialist technical hardware and software solutions with a view to delivering new technologies through to deployment. You will be expected to Keep up to date with technological advances and identify technical opportunities to assist in intelligence and evidence gathering.
You will develop, monitor and implement systems and procedures and the nature of this work is such that applicants must be able to demonstrate an extremely flexible approach to their work and work in a time critical environment.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
To be considered for this position you need to be able to answer yes to the following questions:
• Do you have a Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline and/or substantial experience in an audio/visual or telecommunications role?
• Do you have knowledge and expertise of common operating systems and applications?
• Do you have Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles?
• Have you the ability to carry a considerable amount of heavy equipment over considerable distances?
