FCIN – SCIENCE TECHNICAL SPECIALIST

The Forensic Collision Investigation Network (FCIN) aims to attract, develop and retain talented people with the right skills and capabilities to meet the current and future challenges we face.

Our people are vital to the delivery of fairness, impartiality, and confidence in collision investigation.

Working in partnership with forces across England and Wales, the FCIN will improve the quality and timeliness of collision investigations and the criminal justice outcomes for all those involved. The network ensures that Forensic Collision Investigators can rely on and underpin their investigations and evaluations with impartiality, scientific integrity, and confidence, whilst also meeting the new statutory requirements for the provision of evidence in critical cases.

We are a national team of specialists working to deliver a fair, consistent and enduring network led approach to scientific services for Forensic Collision Investigation.

The FCIN is a formal collaboration hosted by North Wales Police, which aims to work with all police forces in England and Wales to improve quality standards, as well as bringing down the overall cost of science development and accreditation.

This role is:

  • Home based involving regular on-site attendance at the FCIN National Test Centre at Cranfield and Santa Pod.
  • Permanent contract with North Wales Police.

As the Host Force for the FCIN, North Wales Police is looking for an exceptional practitioner to join our Science Team as a Science Technical Specialist.
