- S26-326 Payables and Receivables Manager (LC7-9)

Lancashire Constabulary is seeking an experienced Payables and Receivables Manager to lead our AP and AR function at Hutton Headquarters.

You will be responsible for leading and developing the existing team, strengthening financial controls and delivering measurable process improvements.

This role will play a key part in our upcoming AI driven transformation of invoice processing giving you the opportunity to shape and implement smarter and more efficient ways of working to support frontline policing in Lancashire.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To ensure that agreed systems and procedures are adhered to and that all financial transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in the most effective manner, following ethical and honest practises at all times.
  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to delivering and achieving value for money, whilst providing a high-quality service, by challenging and recommending changes to the way business is conducted.
  • To be responsible for informing the cash and banking team of cash flows based on trend analysis, and consultation with budget holders and service To develop forecasts and financial commentaries and to make recommendations on any control action necessary.

Skills and Experience: 

  • Fully qualified AAT or equivalent 
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • A strong background in performance management and leading a team in a large, high-volume organisation
  • Experience of managing accounts payable and accounts receivable service in a large organisation
  • A competent knowledge of Microsoft Software Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Experience of designing spreadsheets with pivot tables and lookup formulas for analysis and reporting
  • Experience of communicating across a wide spectrum of people both individuals and in groups internally and externally

Vetting and Medical:

Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
