Lancashire Constabulary is looking for a service advisor to join our team.
This role is responsible for acting as the main link between officers and staff and the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU), ensuring vehicles are correctly booked in for servicing, repairs, maintenance, and compliance work. It involves accurately assessing vehicle requirements, managing both planned maintenance and unexpected repair work, and keeping fleet management systems updated with all relevant service and repair information.
The role also requires maintaining compliance documentation, communicating progress and additional work requirements to officers and staff, and arranging loan vehicles where available to minimise operational disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Fleet Support Administrators during periods of high demand/abstractions.
- To provide timely and regular updates to customers, including realistic timescales for service, repair work and warranty work.
- To provide updates, advice and guidance to Police Officers and Police Staff on vehicle repairs.
- To assist the VMU Workshop Controllers to triage all vehicle defects within the Fleet Management System to ensure they are handled and discharged in the most appropriate manner. Relaying the correct information to the end user to ensure the vehicle is repaired and compliant.
- To provide a customer focused service to all visitors, customers and contractors making enquiries or visiting Service Reception. Handle and divert all phone calls accordingly.

Skills and Experience:
- AFP – Fleet Vehicle Management – Foundation Level IMI qualification at Pass or above or be willing to work towards and complete within 24 months.
- IMI Level 3 Diploma, or above, in Customer Service or an equivalent qualification or be willing to work
- IMI Accredited Service Advisor qualification or equivalent such as ‘Service Advisor Technical for Non Technical jargon busting and managing the customer experience
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence

Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV).
Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
