Lancashire Constabulary is looking for a Digital Media Officer join our HQ Crime Division, Digital Forensic Team. There are two full time posts available, one post will be based at Preston and one post will be based at Blackpool.
As a Digital Media Officer, you will provide technical support to divisions in relation to the retrieval, analysis, examination and presentation of electronic forensic information, Intermediate level mobile device forensic examination, CCTV and video intelligence and evidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Divisional adviser on mobile device forensics and interrogation of mobile phone data reports as well as providing support on CCTV viewing stations and mobile phone extraction kiosks.
- Provide on the job assistance across division on using the divisional based Mobile Phone extraction kiosks and viewing stations, for use in the interrogation and reporting of mobile phone data.
- Undertake intermediate to advanced mobile device forensic examinations in line with DMIU ISO 17025 standard operating procedures. While incorporating all forensic disciplines and adhering to strict guidelines.
- Provide reports, statements and evidence in court as and when required.

Skills and Experience:
- Detailed working knowledge of video and digital technology
- A Full UK manual driving licence and a willingness to undertake and pass the Constabulary Basic Driver Assessment prior to driving a Constabulary vehicle
- Experience of working on own initiative with minimum supervision, seeking advice when appropriate
Vetting and Medical:
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Management Vetting (MV). Please be aware there is a minimum 5 year UK residency requirement for Management vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
Upon successful appointment as per the job specification, you will be required to provide your DNA for elimination purposes, this will be held against the Contamination Elimination Database (CED).
