- S26-226 Security Officer (LC3)

Lancashire Constabulary is seeking a reliable and professional Security Officer to be based at Hutton Headquarters to help maintain the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors.

This role is key to ensuring a secure working environment across police sites, supporting operational policing by preventing unauthorised access, responding to incidents, and providing a visible and reassuring presence.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure the Constabulary's security protocols and procedures are promoted and adhered to by all staff and visitors and to maintain the security of Lancashire Police Headquarters and satellite sites.
  • To control entry and egress of persons and vehicles on the Constabulary’s sites to prevent unauthorised access. Respond appropriately to attempts at unauthorised access or any other breaches of security
  • To undertake foot and vehicular patrols of the Constabulary’s Headquarters and satellite sites at the required times and intervals.
  • Issue parking permits as required and  ensure that all required personal and vehicular passes are displayed prior to entry onto site.
  • To liaise effectively with other departments and organisations as and when required in relation to site security. Escalate concerns regarding compliance concerns to ensure these are addressed by the relevant department. 
  • To carry out any other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities, and grading of the post.

Skills and Experience:

  • Security Industry Authority (SIA) License qualification or equivalent, or willingness to work towards within 2 years.
  • Previous experience of working unsociable hours
  • Experience of maintaining accurate and legible records
  • Experience of communicate clearly and articulately at all levels internally and externally
  • Experience of working effectively as part of a team 
  • Working knowledge of GDPR 
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence 
  • Willing to undertake and pass the Constabulary Basic Driver Assessment prior to driving a Constabulary vehicle

Vetting and Medical:

Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.

The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.
