Applications are invited for the post of Recruitment Assistant within the Human Resources Division based at Hutton Headquarters.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our Team Leaders to deliver an exceptional experience for everyone looking to join the Constabulary. No two days are the same—you’ll be part of a fast‑paced, supportive recruitment team, getting involved in every stage of the process for officers, staff, agency workers and volunteers.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with people—great communication skills are a must, as you’ll be building strong relationships with our internal departments, colleagues across the organisation, and external candidates.
Excellent IT skills are a must, as much of our work is completed through our online recruitment system, Oleeo, and through Excel.
In addition, you’ll support our Workforce Representation team by providing admin support, helping to organise events and team inputs, and producing relevant data and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of a customer focused administrative service ensuring that the Constabulary meets all HR priorities in relation to Recruitment.
- To produce ID badges in a timely manner and ensure the machine is fully operational, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Deal with internal and external enquiries by telephone, correspondence or personal contact and to liaise with divisions and departments, staff associations and external organisations as required.
- To administer the delivery of the end-to-end recruitment process from vacancy clearance (adverts) to appointment and everything in between, for Police Staff (int/ext), Police Officers (int/ext), Secondments.
- To administer the delivery of the end to end corporate processes from vacancy clearance (adverts) to appointment and everything in between, for PCRO, PSCO, Trainee Investigators, Specials, CDOs
- Assist in the development and implementation of Human Resources systems and administrative procedures to facilitate effective and efficient working practices.

Vetting and Medical:
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
