- S26-133 Occupational Health Nurse (LC8)

Lancashire Constabulary are actively recruiting for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Health Nurse to join our friendly in-house team based at our Headquarters site at Hutton near Preston.    

At Lancashire Constabulary we are fully committed to providing an outstanding occupational health service to support the health and wellbeing of our police officers and support staff, so they are able to keep the communities of Lancashire safe.

We are looking for someone to work alongside a small team of clinical specialists working closely with the Force Medical Advisor to provide a high-quality occupational health service. 

As an Occupational Health Nurse you will be directly involved with undertaking medical and fitness to work assessments. Following these you will complete reports to identify any recommendations for workplace adjustments, which will keep staff and officers safe at work. You will be a point of contact for providing advice to employees and line managers on general health issues, especially when linked to reasonable adjustments. You will play a key role in supporting the clinical team in delivering an efficient running of the OH department, which will ensure we are delivering high standards of services with an emphasis on quality.

Successful applicants will need to be a Registered General Nurse registered with the NMC and hold a Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing or equivalent or be willing to achieve this within two academic years. As a force we can consider alternative funding options to individuals who don't already hold a Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing.

Vetting and Medical:

Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.

Please note, candidates successful at shortlisting will be required to undertake an assessment as part of the interview process. This will consist of a 10 minute presentation based on an Occupational Health subject.

The starting salary is normally at the bottom of the grade, however, there may be an opportunity to commence on a higher salary for exceptional candidates with relevant knowledge or experience, within the salary banding advertised.
