Lancashire Constabulary is looking for a Kitchen Team Leader to join our team.
This role is primarily based at Hutton Headquarters, however you will be required to be the Kitchen Team Leader cover at our Divisional Headquarters (Blackpool, Blackburn Greenbank and Preston) when needed.
The purpose of this role is to support the Catering Services Supervisor with the planning of menus, and ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained in line with the stock control sheets. You will be required to prepare meals and services at the required times, with agreed methods and portion controls to the agreed performance and qualitative targets. As well as ensuring that there are sufficient hot and cold food provisions during the service times within the unit and leading and inspiring catering assistants to maximise performance and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- To oversee the catering function within the specific catering facility.
- To plan and design menus, schedule the recipes, ensure sufficient stock is available to maintain daily food provisions in line with menus including additional stock ordering with the meal allowance budget as agreed, in conjunction with the Catering Services Supervisor.
- Liaise with the Cost Controller for stock ordering and replenishment, ensuring it is within the required usage
- Preparation of the meals on a daily basis, batch cooking as appropriate to ensure the food is served fresh and held at appropriate temperatures/times to meet food hygiene regulations and ready for serving at the allocated meal service times.
- Provide guidance and direction to Catering Assistants undertaking food preparation duties as required

Vetting and Medical:
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.
