- NR1 - Police Control Room Operator - 37 hours per week

Are you ready to be at the heart of policing? Lancashire Constabulary is offering an exciting opportunity to join our fast-paced Contact Management Team at Police Headquarters, Hutton, as a full-time Police Control Room Operator.

This is a unique and rewarding role where no two days are the same. If you are a confident, customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills, you’ll play a vital part in keeping our communities safe. You will be the first point of contact for the public, handling both emergency and non-emergency calls, making critical decisions, and ensuring the right response is provided when it matters most.

We are pleased to advise that we are planning on running two recruitment campaigns.  One course will run from 16th November 2026 – 15th January 2027 and the other will run from 4th January 2027 – 26th February 2027.

When applying, you will be asked to indicate your preferred campaign. If your chosen campaign reaches capacity, your application will automatically be considered for the alternative campaign.  We will do our best to take your preferred intake into consideration, however this will be subject to operational demand and the number of candidates required for each intake.

Please note, if you are not available for any of the scheduled dates for the campaign you are added to, i.e., assessment days, interviews and the full training course, then unfortunately your application will be withdrawn, however we would suggest you sign up for our job alerts to be the first to hear about future campaigns.

Our recruitment process is designed to identify the best candidates for this vital role. It begins with an online application, followed by a shortlisting stage where applications are assessed against the required criteria. Successful applicants will then be invited to attend an assessment day and if successful at this stage will then be invited to attend an interview at a later date.  Candidates who are successful at this stage will progress to the pre-employment checks phase, including vetting, medical assessments, and references, before receiving a final offer of employment.

Please don’t delay in applying. Simply attach your CV, detailing your qualifications with any experience of customer service.  Please make sure you answer the essential criteria questions as these will be taken into consideration at the shortlisting stage along with your CV.
