  • Manage, handle and process sensitive information in line with national standards.
  • Prepare clear, concise written products and briefings for officers, staff and partners.
  • Facilitate the secure transfer, storage and destruction of sensitive data and materials.
  • Work closely with supervisors to ensure the Control Desk function operates effectively.
  • Apply an understanding of threat, harm and risk to contextualise intelligence and support tasking decisions.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail when handling large volumes of information.

This must be demonstrated both on application and interview.
  • Ability to input, manipulate and analyse data accurately and efficiently.
  • Understanding of the National Intelligence Model (NIM), National Standards of Intelligence Management (NSIM), intelligence grading, and the Government Protective Marking Scheme (GPMS).
  • Experience handling, researching and summarising complex intelligence material.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, meaningful intelligence summaries and reports.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Confidence to challenge discrepancies in intelligence sensitively and professionally.

Professional Competence

  • APP‑MOPI training and understanding of GPMS principles (or willingness to undertake training).
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise effectively and manage competing demands.
  • Self‑motivation, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision when required.
  • Understanding of CT and DE policing priorities, including threat, harm and risk concepts.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Schedule 7 TACT 2000, Schedule 3 CTBSA 2019) is desirable.
