Job Title: NRPCC Strategic Development Manager
Salary: The starting salary is £83,589, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £80,580 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £93,071. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: Remote working nationally within UK. NPCC is currently based in close proximity to St James Park underground station, London and therefore occasional travel will be required to this premise and other Police locations across the UK. Contract – Fixed Term Contract for 2 years from start date.

NPCC – NATIONAL ROADS POLICING COORDINATION CENTRE
The NRPCC is an evolution of the NPCC Roads Policing Portfolio following the conclusion of the Roads Policing Review in 2025 and subsequent dedicated funding to create a new strategic partnership between NPCC and DfT. It will support road safety and roads policing across the UK with enhanced national coordination, consistency and communication across the portfolio, government and the wider road safety community. The enhanced central capability will lead operational cohesion across 43 forces, maximise intelligence opportunities, identify and drive best practice and create a formal mechanism for delivering road safety innovation.
THE ROLE
The Strategic Development Manager plays a key national role in shaping, influencing and delivering Roads Policing strategy across England and Wales. The postholder is accountable for translating and informing national strategic priorities into delivery, ensuring alignment between government policy, NPCC portfolios and operational policing.
The successful candidate would need to have the following experiences and skills:
- Advanced knowledge of programme and project delivery frameworks within complex, multi-agency public sector environments, including governance, risk, assurance and performance management.
- Developing briefings, analysis and recommendations that inform senior decision-making and strategic direction.
- Leading complex, multi-agency delivery across organisational boundaries, balancing competing national priorities.
- Resolving complex and ambiguous delivery challenges, balancing national priorities, operational realities and stakeholder interests to maintain progress.
- Experience of working within structured governance environments, supporting senior accountable roles (e.g. SRO or programme director level).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Occasional national travel may be required. Travel expenses will be paid if location allowance is not being received, or when travel falls outside of the home to work journey. NPCC will pay for overnight accommodation if required.
