An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced practitioner to join the Health and Safety Team. You will assist in providing comprehensive strategic health and safety support across all functions of GMP. We can guarantee the duties will be varied and wide reaching.
You will be joining an enthusiastic team who are passionate about bringing GMPs health and safety policies to life and providing the highest level of service to all staff volunteers and visitors.
This is a challenging role in which you will champion health and safety initiatives and encourage the adoption of best practice and continuous improvement throughout GMP. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager your role will be to build upon our current safety management processes and assist with the development of strategies to maintain and improve safety performance across GMP.
Key Work Areas;
• provide professional and proactive safety advice on a range of health and safety issues to police officers and staff
• contribute to the development of health and safety policy and guidance
• take part in developing the safety audit programme and reporting on findings
• contribute to the delivery of the health and safety training programme across the organisation
• be involved in the preparation of accidents/assault statistics, provide commentary, analyse trends and suggest remedial action.
What you will need to succeed

• be highly organised and self-motivated with excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, plus a willingness to work flexibly and proactively.
• be a graduate member of IOSH hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and actively working towards obtaining CMIOSH status
