Commissioning Officer - Victims' Services - Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner

We are looking for a Commissioning Officer (General Commissioning) to work within the Policy, Commissioning and Communications Directorate within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Norfolk.

The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is elected by the Norfolk public to set the countywide strategy for reducing crime and disorder and improving community safety. The PCC is the voice of the people in policing, holding Norfolk’s Chief Constable to account for delivering an efficient and effective police service. Your PCC champions the needs of victims of crime and the vulnerable, providing local services to ensure that help and support are available to them. The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner supports this work.

The Commissioning function of the organisation is responsible for commissioning services that support victims of crime and to reduce crime and/or antisocial behaviour. This specific role is working with external organisations that support any victim of crime and offender management. It includes developing specifications for the design and delivery of victims of crime which includes the Victim Assessment and Referral Service, Domestic Abuse Services, Sexual Violence Services and Restorative Justice Services.

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the OPCCN Commissioning Strategy to delivery the objectives set out in the Police, Crime and Community Safety Plan by commissioning services and interventions to support victims, reduce crime and improve community safety Norfolk. There will also be the need to manage and apply to external funding streams either in partnership or on behalf of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
