Team Leader - Serious Crime Children Investigations

Drive high-impact, multi-agency investigations to keep children safe

We’re seeking a highly motivated and skilled Team Leader to join our Serious Crime Children Investigation Team.

You’ll be leading multi-disciplinary investigations that protect children and vulnerable adults, ensuring that safeguarding referrals and police investigations are managed with professionalism and compassion.

As our Team Leader, you will be responsible for the assessment and investigative decision making linked to referrals from children’s services, adult safeguarding, and police incidents. Your leadership will ensure investigations are delivered effectively, using evidence informed practice and robust multi-agency collaboration.

You will represent the police at meetings, making decisions using the National Decision Model, gathering, and interpreting information and intelligence to inform safeguarding responses and investigative direction.

This is a rewarding and crucial opportunity to develop a specialist team, influence safeguarding outcomes, and make a meaningful impact on the protection of children and vulnerable adults.

This role is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.

The must haves

  • The ability to use sound judgement to make confident decisions, in high pressure and complex safeguarding and investigative situations.
  • Knowledge of child and adult safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team, communicating effectively and confidently.
