Transferee and re-joiner police officer opportunities – Constable, Sergeant, Inspector & Chief Inspector
We are looking for experienced Constables, Sergeants, Inspectors & Chief Inspector to join both our uniform and detective teams across the Force.
We welcome transferee and re-joiner applications all year round. However, if you're hoping to join the cohort starting on 23rd March 2026, please note that applications will close on 30th November 2025.

To be eligible to transfer you must:
- Be a current serving police officer in a Home Office force.
- Have no outstanding misconduct or integrity issues.
- Have resided in the UK for three years immediately prior to submitting your application.
- Must have successfully completed your probationary period with your Force prior and be substantive in post.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be invited to a competency-based interview, based on the Competency & Values Framework for Policing (CVF).
Successful applicants will be guided through the transferee and re-joiner process and will be required to undergo the following checks:
- Vetting
- Medical Assessment
- Biometrics
- References
- Sickness Criteria
- Misconduct
- Tattoos
Your posting will be dependent on your individual preference and operational requirement. While every effort will be made to meet your individual preference, this cannot be guaranteed.
Rejoining the force:
To rejoin you must have previously served as a member of a police force and have satisfactorily completed your probation service in the rank of constable required under regulation 12.
Rejoining Officers will be appointed in a rank decided by the Chief Officer making the appointment and will complete a probationary period determined by the Chief Officer.
Interview dates: Interviews will be held between 1st – 12th December 2025
