Description of Role:
We are currently looking for a Detective Sergeant to join the Fraud Operations Team within the National Lead Force. Fraud Operations tackle the most complex and high-profile fraud investigations that encompass multiple force areas and jurisdictions.
We hold a national remit and support all UK Forces and ROCU’s in their approach to fraud. You will be provided with the training and resources to thrive both professionally and personally. You will be offered bespoke training from both the CoLP Economic and Cyber Crime Academy and externally accredited institutions. As a Fraud Ops DS you will have a high degree of autonomy and be encouraged to take a creative and innovative approach to investigations.
You will lead a team of staff to pursue and disrupt fraud offenders and organised criminal groups causing the most harm to UK victims of fraud. Take responsibility for cultivating and nurturing partnerships to efficiently and effectively target offending whilst maximising disruptions and criminal justice outcomes. Maximise the use of ancillary orders to prevent and deter further offending.
You will be a substantive and experienced Detective Sergeant who can demonstrate your passion for working in the City of London. We are looking for an inspiring leader to drive our team.
Essential Criteria:
- Have excellent oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with the public, private sector and colleagues at all levels.
- Have effective written communication skills with an ability to focus on detail and provide sound rationale for recommendations.
- Be able to set clear and informed investigative strategies and ensure investigations adhere to Fraud Operations key operational principles.
- Be able to successfully manage and prioritise a significant workload to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience of supporting and developing staff and of improving team performance.
- Have a good working knowledge and practical experience of CPIA.
