Confiscator

Investigate the identification, restraint and confiscation of criminally derived assets.

As a Confiscator you will manage confiscation investigations to identify, collate, analyse and present financial information for the calculation of benefit and asset tracing how to obtain a restraint order. You will also help identify financial instruments, businesses and trading entities where proceeds can be hidden.

What you’ll be doing

  • Prepare for and attend any court hearing or enquiry to give evidence as required.
  • Provide assistance and support to departments in relation to intelligence obtained from financial institutions such as banks and building societies.
  • Develop and maintain liaison with outside agencies and government departments to assist in the successful prosecution of criminal offences.

The must haves

  • To have obtained accreditation to use Part 2 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA) (Confiscation).
  • Investigation skills specifically within the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and Fraud Act 2006.
  • Experience of multi-agency working to secure effective outcomes.
