Are you an investigator with accreditation to use Part 2 of the Proceeds of Crime Act (2002)?

The Economic Crime Unit are seeking a Confiscator on a full-time permanent basis, to effectively prepare and present evidence for a confiscation case hearing. To identify financial instruments, businesses, and trading entities where proceeds can be hidden; and to understand the enforcement of confiscation orders and its role in this function.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake investigations into the identification, restraint, and confiscation of Criminally Derived Assets. Ensure full compliance with relevant Legal protocols and procedures in order to secure successful outcomes.
  • To undertake ‘Confiscation’ enquiries to identify the benefit of a defendant from crime and their available assets.
  • To provide assistance and support to Areas and Departments in relation to intelligence obtained from financial institutions i.e., banks, building societies etc via Economic Crime Unit (ECU) accredited gateway access.
  • To provide assistance and support to Areas and Departments in relation to intelligence obtained from financial institutions i.e., banks, building societies etc via Economic Crime Unit (ECU) accredited gateway access.

The must haves

  • To have obtained accreditation to use Part 2 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA) (Confiscation).
  • Demonstrate successful and suitably developed investigation skills specifically within the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and Fraud Act 2006.
  • Demonstrate by examples, practical experience in the compilation of, confiscation statements.
  • Demonstrate by examples, practical experience in the compilation of, restraint statements.

Salary £38,007 - £40,950

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
