We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as an Intelligence Researcher in our Force Intelligence and Organised Crime Unit. Could you be who we are looking for?
About the team/Department you will be joining:
We are a professional, committed, inclusive and engaging team working in the Force Intelligence and Organised Crime Unit.
We are based at locations throughout the force including Bridgend, Pontypridd, Neath and Fairwater in Cardiff and from home in line with the South Wales Police smarter working policy.
Our team works a flexible working pattern amounting to 37hrs per week generally on a 9-5 basis with some requirement for working outside of these hours.
About the role and your key responsibilities :
- Accurately extract data and intelligence from appropriate databases. Ensuring that relevant data and intelligence is accurately inputted into the analytical databases used by the South Wales Police.
- Scan and evaluate information from a wide range of open and closed information sources and Research information in relation to problems, patterns, trends and series for the analyst.
- Undertake basic data manipulation and graphical representation under the direction of the analyst and produce accurate and easy to use reports of research activity.
What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:
Ability to research and prioritise data from large datasets, format, cleanse and report on findings in both written and graphical formats. A sound knowledge of excel is vital in being successful in this role.
Ability to working within a team an on one’s own is key as is use of initiative in how to manipulate data and look beyond the data for additional information that will improve our understanding of a particular area of criminality.
