HP - Cadet Standards Volunteer

Role: Cadet Standards Volunteer

Department: Community Safety Unit (CSU)

Location: Northbank and Southbank

Hours:  8 Hours per month (Flexible)

Contract: Permanent

 

Humberside Police are currently looking for someone to develop the skills and standards of the cadets within our groups. To teach and inspect the standards to ensure Humberside Police has the best-looking Cadet Force. This will include the standards of Ironing Uniform, Hair standards, Cleaning Boots, Uniform Standards, Marching.

This is a fantastic chance to play a key part in supporting our Cadets while making a meaningful difference in your community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To ensure standards of Cadets dress and Hair when in uniform is correct.
  • Assess and Spot check standards on a regular basis.
  • Mystery shop each Cadet Group to check standards.
  • Ensure Cadets have lessons planned in to teach them how to March.
  • Ensure Cadets have lessons planned in on how to polish boots and keep them to standard.
  • Educate with positive constructive feedback and support to maintain the standards expected.

 

Knowledge and Skills required:

  • Any Military or Police Force knowledge of standards.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Good demonstration skills.
  • Good Communication skills.
  • Keen attitude.
  • Able to communicate with younger people.

Pre – Employment Checks and Eligibility:

  • Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria of at least 3 years continuous residency in the UK to apply for roles with Humberside Police.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a vetting procedure pre-requisite of employment. (Please note, with holding any information asked by the vetting department, may delay the vetting procedure, or result in your vetting been refused and the offer of employment been withdrawn)
  • Tattoo’s will be reviewed as a part of the recruitment process to ensure we maintain a level of professional standards and to make sure the images do not cause offence or are unacceptable.
