Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) Officer - Constable

Lincolnshire Police are inviting applications for Armed Response Vehicle Officers (ARVOs) operating from bases at Lincolnshire Police Headquarters and Boston Police Station.

The ARVs are required to maintain armed support to the force in respect of general policing and to respond to demands in respect of counter terrorism. The ARVs primary role is to be responsible for the 24/7 spontaneous armed response to incidents and to carry out planned firearms operations.

In addition, the ARVs will provide a Taser response to appropriate incidents, carry out Fatal Five prevention work, assist colleagues with MOE and First Aid, attend Serious and Fatal collisions in support of Roads Policing and the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, and work with other departments on pro-active operations.

Further opportunities to develop within the department are available including Advanced and TPAC driving courses, Close Protection Officer, Tactical Rifle Officer, National Firearms Instructors (full and part time) and Operational Firearms Commander.

Officer with specialisms often assist with major national events and are deployed across the country.
