Candidate Attraction and Engagement Lead

We are seeking a Candidate Attraction & Engagement Lead to play a pivotal role in attracting a diverse, talented and committed workforce to the police service.


This is a high-impact role focused on shaping how the police service is seen as an employer of choice. You’ll lead innovative attraction and engagement activity, strengthen community connections, and ensure our recruitment approach reflects our commitment to diversity, inclusion and public trust.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and delivering attraction campaigns for frontline, specialist and hard-to-recruit roles
  • Using data and insight to target underrepresented groups and improve diversity
  • Building strong relationships with schools, colleges, universities and community organisations
  • Collaborating with Corporate Communications to create engaging content across social media, job boards and community channels
  • Leading and attending careers fairs and outreach events
  • Reporting on campaign performance, candidate engagement and recruitment outcomes
  • Supporting positive action initiatives and advising on best practice recruitment solutions
  • Maintaining accurate records and producing performance and statistical data in line with GDPR requirements
  • Supporting pre- and post-offer candidate engagement to reduce attrition
  • Networking with other police forces and external partners to share insight and best practice

  • Experience of attraction, engagement or recruitment campaign delivery
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to shape strategy
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Knowledge of inclusive recruitment practices and positive action initiatives
  • The confidence to provide expert advice on resourcing challenges and recruitment best practice
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
