We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as Case Management Officer -  Presenting Office in our Professional Standards Department. Could you be who we are looking for? 

About the team/Department you will be joining: 

  • The Professional Standards Department (PSD) investigates allegations that have been made against members of South Wales Police. Our Presenting Office coordinate and facilitate the delivery of evidence at any formal proceedings which then follow.
  • The PSD Presenting Office has a high volume of sensitive conduct proceedings to deliver, involving complex and often emotive subject matter which must be managed with professionalism and objectivity, in full compliance with standards and regulations.
  • We are based in an office in Bridgend not far from the M4. Some home working is possible, but to protect the security of our cases and the materials in those cases this is not always possible and the expectation will be in-office attendance.

About the role and your key responsibilities: 

  • The role will primarily work to support the PSD Presenting Officers who lead on facilitating conduct proceedings. The role will be responsible for supporting the preparation of complex evidential packages, and related administration duties.
  • The role will carry a substantial workload under strict timescales, often involving upsetting materials
  • The role will be responsible for ensuring the work they help deliver is to the highest standards as required by South Wales Police and the Presenting Officers.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role: 

  • We are looking for someone with previous relevant experience producing or preparing complex documentary / legal packages, sometimes involving emotive matters, to strict timescales.
  • We are looking for someone with considerable relevant skill in coordinating their work across multiple cases simultaneously – the role will be required to support delivery of numerous matters with overlapping timescales.
  • We are looking for someone with the ability to use initiative but also to be a fully contributing colleague who works to support our Presenting Officers in their delivery of proceedings.

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers 

  • The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC level.
