We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Intern to work within our very busy HR Team where you will have opportunity to support the delivery of a range of projects and services across various teams within the department.
You can expect to be challenged every day and have the chance to put your academic knowledge to the test, gaining invaluable work experience to contribute to your ongoing career in HR.
Our Internship Programme provides you with the opportunity to gain essential work experience in your chosen field of work.
You’ll also benefit from the opportunity to develop many other skills including leadership, critical thinking and team building and participate in some of the established South Wales Police training programmes.
You will also have a network of support and encouragement from line managers, who will guide you through your role and professional studies to help you ease into your new role and provide ongoing support throughout the programme. You can be confident that we are just as enthusiastic about your development as you are.
This role will commence in September 2026 and continue for a fixed term period of 12 months.

Qualification Criteria
To be eligible you must be working towards a degree and be in your ‘sandwich year’ / ‘year in industry’ (between years 2 and 3) in Human Resources and have successfully completed your second year of the qualification.
KEY DATES
Shortlisting for this vacancy will take place on 16th and 17th February 2026.
Interviews for this vacancy will take place on either 16th or 17th March 2026.
