Hours:  8 Hours per month (Flexible)
Contract: Permanent


Humberside Police are seeking an enthusiastic individual to volunteer as a Marine Protect Team Support Assistant.
As a Marine Protect Team Volunteer, you’ll provide logistical support, help with vessel maintenance, and assist with training activities. Working alongside Police Crew, you’ll be involved in moving, cleaning, fuelling, and maintaining a full range of police vessels to ensure they are ready for operational use.
This is a fantastic chance to play a key part in supporting marine operations while making a meaningful difference in your community.
 
Key Responsibilities:

•  Provide logistical support to the Marine Protect Team.
•  Assist with waterside safety and training activities.
•  Help with maintenance tasks for police vessels.
•  Work alongside Police Crew to move, clean, fuel, and maintain a range of vessels.


Requirements:

•  Previous knowledge and understanding of a commercial maritime environment.
•  Familiarity with water safety practices.
•  Royal Yacht Association (RYA) accreditation.
•  Physically capable of handling vessel-related tasks (moving, cleaning, fuelling, maintenance).


Further information: 
Due to the environmental impacts of marine policing, this volunteer will not require lone working around any marine environment and will only be required to follow the direction of qualified crew.

Pre – Employment Checks and Eligibility: 

•  Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria of at least 3 years continuous residency in the UK to apply for roles with Humberside Police.
•  Successful candidates will undergo a vetting procedure pre-requisite of employment. (Please note, with holding any information asked by the vetting department, may delay the vetting procedure, or result in your vetting been refused and the offer of employment been withdrawn)
•  Tattoo’s will be reviewed as a part of the recruitment process to ensure we maintain a level of professional standards and to make sure the images do not cause offence or are unacceptable.
