Senior Performance Officer
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable performance leader to drive the delivery of our Force Performance Framework. This role ensures our performance products and practices align with strategic objectives set by the Force, Home Office, NPCC and HMICFRS. You will lead and develop the Performance team, provide expert advice across the organisation, and uphold our values of being open, courageous, fair and inclusive in all that you do.
What You’ll Be Doing- Managing the delivery of performance data across the Force, ensuring alignment between strategic, tactical and operational levels.
- Coordinating, prioritising and evaluating demand for performance products, ensuring high-quality outputs and clear advice on their implications.
- Providing performance and management support to meet operational and strategic needs.
- Advising internal customers on performance matters and the effective use of performance resources.
- Leading and supporting the Performance team, including recruitment, development, and monitoring of performance standards.
- Developing, evaluating and quality assuring performance products and implementing effective systems and processes.
- Building technical capability across the team, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Conducting regular staff appraisals and supporting the professional and career development of your team.
This role is central to ensuring the Force delivers high-quality, transparent and accountable policing services. By shaping how performance is understood, measured and used across the organisation, you will directly contribute to improved decision-making, service delivery and public trust. Your leadership helps maintain compliance with national standards while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.
