Accredited Financial Investigator - Investigations (CTPSE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accredited Financial Investigator to join our Financial Investigations Unit, part of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) Investigations.  You will undertake proactive and reactive financial investigations with a view to establishing funding or other links to terrorist or extremist organisations.

The role includes identifying and recording intelligence generated from allocated investigations for dissemination as appropriate, and identifying and seeking evidence of funding or financially facilitating terrorist or extremist activities. You will receive, research and analyse confidential financial disclosures from Intelligence sources, identifying, monitoring, maintaining relevant databases and making recommendations as to appropriate further actions.

You will have experience in a police environment or partnership agency with understanding of the National Intelligence Model and experience of delivering intelligence products. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and proven research skills with the ability to problem solve.

You must be willing and able to successfully complete a series of CT training courses in financial investigation (CT and POCA including restraint and confiscation if unqualified) through mentoring to full national accreditation. Full or part accreditation is advantageous, however full training will be provided if required.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. Public transport may not be available or suitable, for this reason a full UK driving licence is considered essential. You will be required to work on the on call rota.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks.  In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government) and studying abroad.  Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.

You can find more information about security vetting here.
