We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to lead the the Constabulary's Cadet Programme.

The Cadet Programme is designed for young people between the ages of 13-17 yrs as part of the wider
approach to Citizens in Policing (CiP), to connect communities to policing and policing to communities. The programme provides exciting opportunities to develop new skills and self-confidence, whilst actively engaging with communities in helping to deliver policing and keep people safe from harm.

The programme aims to:

  • enable young people to make a difference in local communities building character, confidence and
    contribution through active engagement
  • actively help to divert young people away from negative influences and crime
  • build trust and confidence between young people, their communities and the police
  • enable young people to have a real voice and influence in building a positive, relevant 21st century policing

The post holder will be responsible for driving the development of this programme of work, supporting local policing priorities with Cadets forming an integral link as part of the Neighbourhood Policing offer. In leading the programme, the post holder will be required to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of Cadet sections across the county, working as part of a team to support and inspire young people as part of the wider approach to CiP.
