Are you passionate about safeguarding vulnerable individuals and supporting justice? Lincolnshire Police is seeking a dedicated Case Officer to join our Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting investigations into child abuse, vulnerable adult abuse, rape, and serious sexual offences.

About the Role

You will work closely with investigating officers to gather evidence, liaise with third-party organisations, and prepare prosecution files. This is a highly sensitive and rewarding role that requires professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards in line with the Code of Ethics and Force Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit initial and upgraded court files to the Crown Prosecution Service.
  • Request and obtain material from third-party organisations across Lincolnshire and beyond.
  • Assist in reviewing video interviews to extract key evidence.
  • Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, and other police forces.
  • Act as Disclosure Officer, ensuring compliance with the Criminal Procedures Investigation Act 1996.
  • Support post-charge action plans as directed by CPS.
  • Maintain continuity of evidence and exhibits in line with PACE 1984.
  • Take supporting statements and prepare documentation for investigations.
  • Attend court to assist officers and prosecutors, and conduct enquiries as required.
  • Promote and value diversity in line with the Force Diversity Strategy.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Understanding of legal frameworks such as CPIA and PACE
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals or in a safeguarding context

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a policing or legal environment
  • Knowledge of court procedures and file preparation standards
  • Familiarity with multi-agency working
