6318 PPST Trainer
Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Learning and Development department delivers training solutions to equip our officers and staff with the required levels of knowledge and training throughout their careers to keep the communities of Gloucestershire safe from harm. We are seeking to recruit a new public and personal safety instructor (PPST) into the department, working from Police Headquarters, Waterwells Quedgeley, Gloucester.
This role is a wide and varied teaching opportunity alongside the physical demands of personal safety, working mainly from our police headquarters sports hall. You will be required to operate as part of a wider team of trainers in delivering public and personal safety training and first aid to police officers, police staff, PCSO’s, Custody detention officers and Special Constabulary.
A teaching/training qualification is desirable, however this is not essential if you have had previous teaching/training experience. You will be required and supported to work towards and attain a level 4 qualification in Education & Training, first aid certificate and an assessor qualification, whilst in post. The cost of this will be supplied by the organisation.
Previous experience of working within the police family or a L2 gym instructors certificate is an advantage but not a necessity, as you will receive the necessary training, upskilling and support to ensure you will be able to perform the role to the required standard.
The role is full-time (37 hours per week). You may be required to work occasional evenings or weekends to support colleagues and to operate from anywhere within our policing area on occasions.
In return, we offer an excellent working environment as part of an enthusiastic, forward thinking team committed to supporting our staff and nurturing personal development.
The closing date is 21st September 23:55pm
