Accredited Financial Investigator x2 (FTC/Secondment)

Two Posts - Secondment/Fixed Term Contract for 2 years

Can be based at either Kidlington or Loddon Valley

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and motivated Accredited Financial Investigator to join the Criminal Finance Team and contribute to the disruption of organised crime by targeting assets via the use of civil forfeiture powers.

The team support Thames Valley Police by conducting Proceeds of Crime Act (PoCA) civil proceedings, pursuing criminals who have benefitted from their criminality and look at ways to remove such benefit and recover the assets.

You will investigate Cash Seizures, Account Freezing, Listed Assets & Crypto Investigations. You will use the various PoCA powers available to conduct thorough investigations and prepare your investigations for court.

The role holder must be self-motivated, able to work with the minimum of supervision, and be well organised sometimes working to tight deadlines (preparing case files and dealing with large volumes of material).

You must be able to demonstrate high attention to detail, excellent investigation skills, with the ability to review and analyse financial material, you should be able present findings in a clear and joined up way.

Unless already fully accredited as a Financial Investigator (FIO, FI, CRiSP, Confiscator, Restraint, S.47), the post holder will be required to complete the relevant entrants exam and training, and thereafter submit the respective PDP to attain full accreditation with the NCA Proceeds of Crime Centre (PoCC).

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region (TVP, Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex) and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC.  In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
