Crime Trainer
Lincolnshire Police is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Crime Trainer to join our Learning & Development team. This is a vital role in shaping the future of investigative policing through high-quality, specialist training.
About the Role
As a Crime Trainer, you will:
- Deliver investigation and specialist crime training to officers and staff, promoting best practice in line with Authorised Professional Practice (APP), national guidance, and force policies.
- Lead training for detectives as part of the Professionalising Investigation Programme (PIP2), and provide specialist training in areas such as:
Rape and sexual offences
Modern slavery
Vulnerability
Interview techniques and achieving best evidence
Disclosure
Risk management officer training - Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training materials reflect current legislation, case law, and APP updates.
- Prepare and update training resources to maintain relevance and accuracy.
- Liaise with external training providers to ensure alignment with force values and procedures.
- Assess student learning and ensure they are equipped with the skills to perform their duties safely and effectively.
- Support ongoing competence through effective CPD delivery.
- Provide pastoral support to students, addressing concerns sensitively and professionally in line with force policies.

- Experience in delivering crime-related training, ideally within a policing or criminal justice context.
Strong understanding of investigative procedures and relevant legislation. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
