Job Title: Financial Investigator
Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: West Brompton
The National Terrorist Financial Investigation Unit (NTFIU) investigates a wide range of offences, typically including complex fraud, money laundering and offences under s.15-18 Terrorism Act 2000.
This role is for a Band C Financial Investigator to be embedded within the National Crime Agency (NCA) on behalf of the NTFIU. The role will sit within the NCA’s Terrorist Finance Team (TFT) and be responsible for assessing counter terrorism financial intelligence.
Due to the nature of the role you will need to have previous experience in financial investigation, both POCA and TACT, including cash seizures, account forfeiture and confiscations.
You will also provide financial investigation expertise and support to CT investigations and identify disruption opportunities through financial investigation.
You will work closely with agencies and departments across HM Government and also the wider financial sector, establishing co-operative and trusted relationships.
This role offers an excellent developmental opportunity for financial investigators to broaden their areas of expertise. Successful candidates will work across organisations and in conjunction with NTFIU investigation teams targeting subjects through both reactive and proactive investigation methods.
This role requires attendance at an office location.
Key Tasks
The post holder will be required to do the following:
- Review & assess financial intelligence
- Advise development opportunities for financial intelligence
- Work with diverse teams across HM Government but also comfortable working on their own
- Engage with stakeholders and external partners to represent the NTFIU
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
These posts can require regular access to the most sensitive intelligence material. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post, which can take between 8-12 months to complete. There will be the opportunity to undergo further NSV at Developed Vetting (DV) level, which will be discussed further at the interview stage and you will be able to indicate if you have a preference for which vetting level you would be submitted for, as we are recruiting to a number of posts across each.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.
As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process.
