As a Firearms Instructor, you’ll be responsible for:
Designing and delivering firearms training that meets the National Police Firearms Training Curriculum (NPFTC) and APP Armed Policing.
Ensuring Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs) are trained to NFPTC standards in an intelligent, integrated, and operationally relevant manner.
Supporting our Armed Policing Strategic Threat and Risk Assessment (APSTRA) by maintaining capability within resource and financial constraints
Holding and maintaining operational and occupational competence in specialist firearms disciplines, as directed by the Chief Firearms Instructor.
Participating in a 24/7 on-call rota in the capacity of a Firearms Tactical Advisor, offering support during planned and spontaneous incidents.
Keeping detailed, compliant records to ensure all training meets legal, policy and procedural standards, contributing to a strong quality assurance process.
Coaching and mentoring staff, promoting personal and professional development and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and conduct .
Supporting the welfare and safety of armed personnel by ensuring robust measures are in place.
Providing sound, evidence-based advice on armed policing matters to colleagues, partner agencies, and stakeholders.
To be considered for this position, you must hold current qualifications as an NFI (National Firearms Instructor) at constable rank.
