Humberside Police are looking for a highly motivated individual to join them in their busy Learning & Development team.
As the Health & Safety Trainer, the post holder will be required to deliver training packages and refresh police Officers and Police Staff in mandatory and additional training requirements to fulfil the Health & Safety legislation, therefore the post holder must be confident in presenting to groups of people.
The successful candidate will motivate, encourage and develop people to achieve their full potential whist promoting equality & Diversity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify training needs, define course aims and objectives in accordance with force, departmental and external requirements taking into account The People Strategy, Plan on a Page and the Learning & Development Strategy
- Monitor and research development's in and amendments to legislation and police procedure and to update curriculum contents accordingly.
- To deliver Health and safety related courses such as IOSH
- Design and develop coursework, training aids, manuals and workbooks to assist in the delivery of training.
- Implement a comprehensive programme of staff development.
- Cascades experience, knowledge and skills gained as an operational Police Officer or staff member to Police Officers and Police Staff under assessment and instruction.
- Maintaining own CPD (including e-learning and Trainer Monitoring), ensuring awareness of changes in procedures, policy / tactics and training methods, and maintenance of Policing skills.

What the role requires:
- Experience of working in a customer orientated field
- Must hold a NEBOSH certificate. (For at least 2 years)
- Must possess significant knowledge of relevant legislation and police procedures.
- Must hold a Level 4 or below training certificate or be willing to work towards Level 4 or above.
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literacy/keyboard skills
- Excellent organisational and presentation skills
- Ability to work with minimum supervision when required.
- Carries out tasks in an accurate and methodical manner with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Able to travel the force area with access to your own vehicle.
- Flexible Approach to working hours.
